Engine stalls while driving

While driving the engine will suddenly shut off then start back up by itself. This could happen at thirty mph or sixty mph. There is no warning does not run rough before or after. Lights stay on and do not dim at all.

This sounds like a classic crankshaft angle sensor that is going out. When this sensor goes out it may or may not trigger a check engine light. We should check for codes before going any further to see what is going on.

It is the cam sensor. Had same issue and dealer mechanic did not believe me. So he used a heat gun to warm the cam sensor up and sure enough it stalled. Replace it and I can idle forever in hot summer sun with A/C going and it still does not shut off.
