Motor mount Instructions

I included the process. It doesn't say a lot of detail but it is not bad. As for the torque it is 70 Nm not ft lbs. 50 ft. lbs.

The bottom picture shows the mount I purchased. Bolt labeled "B" has three spots but the instructions say to jack up the engine for clearance, after removing the through bolt. Meaning that after I attached the new mount, I have to lower the engine correctly and install the through bolt?

Correct. Support the engine. Remove the through bolts. Lift the engine only enough to remove the mount. Remove the mount. Install the new mount. Lower the engine. Install the through bolt and tighten.

That bracket on the driver side is useless and a pain to line back up. Think it'll do fine without it?

Actually, I think I know what that bracket is for. It has a bolt made into it I believe for the metal support bars that attach to the transmission. This truck is missing those support bars, and the torque converter plate so It really is useless.

okay, with good conscience I couldn't put it back together without the bracket. But the engine won't lower down into place where the through bolt will line up. What the heck? The procedure simplifies it and the pictures downplay it, but this is a pain.

Won't get any better than this. Any tips?

Haha. Yeah. The instructions always seem to make it seem like it is easy. Just lift, remove, install, and lower, all finished.

I would try rocking the motor just a bit to see if you can get it to drop in. If you have it supported, just make sure it is stable and you don't want to rock it so much that it will fall off your support but you can move it a bit to get it to fall in place. Other then that, use a pry bar to move the engine around to get it drop in.

Yeah, I ended up pushing the motor while lowering to get it in place. However, it wouldn't allow all bolts to line up with the block. So I tightened down 2 out of 3. Oh well. However , the passenger side mount fell into place just fine.

Okay. You may have some vibration issues in the future. No guarantee that there will be an issue but if you do, you know where to start.
