The moonroof glass is stuck in the open position and will not close?

This unit is driven by cables and a regulator much like a door window. What happens is a cable breaks or one of the support wheels gives way and allows the cable to "wad up" you will need to lower the headliner and replace the cable drive unit; it sounds like the motor still works so you are good there. here are the instructions on how to replace the moon roof cable drive assembly in the images below.
