Module Issue

My car has had no issues. Yesterday I was on the highway and all of a sudden it sounded like it switched gears. It would not accelerate. Battery, Oil, ABS, ESP BAS and another light all came on and got really hot in the car . Pulled into rest area and shut it off. Tried restarting and it would not start the battery seemed dead. Five minutes later it started with no issues all the way home on the highway. Later yesterday it was fine and today too. What issue could it be having so it doesn't happen again? Thanks.
