Snice the problem is intermittent and you have already replaced the ignition switch, I would suggest checking the wire harness.

Check the harness connectors for signs of overheating, corrosion or contaminations. Check the main fuses as well.

Is there some sort of electronic controller or at least a relay of some sort that could be malfunctioning? I've noticed (when I'm going slow enough to hear it) a sound under the dash on the passenger side like a relay switching when the power shuts down.

This little truck has developed a situation where you'll be driving along, everything normal, and all of a sudden it's as if the switch gets turned off. Dead. No power anywhere (ignition switch, radio, lights). Totally dead. Then, after some apparently random amount of time, it'll work again just like normal.

This happened just the other day when we were driving 65mph down the freeway. All of a sudden I realized the engine had died and there was no power. Rats! We had to get a tow home.

There are no relays whatsoever to control the power supply and the relay that you heard is most probably clicking because of power interruption.

Check the ignition wires plugged into the fuse box and the power supply linre from underhoos fuse box. If connections are poor, resistance would be high and heats builds up over time of driving and causes the circuit to break intermittently.
