2000 Eclipse GT 100k miles.
When I am driving my car the temp gauge is fine until I have to slow down or stop completely. The gauge is normally just under the halfway mark but If I slow down or stop tho it increases to about 3/4 the way to the H mark. It has been doing that for a little bit now and just recently it actaully went up to the H zone. I can also hear the fan kick in also when the gauge starts to rise. Then when I start going again it goes back down to normal.
I called around and was told the same thing by everyone that I have talked to. It could range from anywhere from the gauge being screwey to something being wrong witht he head gaskets. I guess my question is this, what would be the most likely problem that would be causing this?
