hey guys i j ust recently bought a 3000gt sl "91" its been having a overheating problem. I replaced the thermistat and is freshly filled with anti freeze. come to find out the thermistat wasnt the problem. When the car idols it stays at normal. However when you start to drive it about 10 minutes into driving it begins to get hot. Then a few minutes more it will get even hotter. The needle on the gauge will go almost past the H. Opening the hood the hose going into the Radiator is got and is Thick. Upon taking it to my mechanic he said the Radiator may be clogged, and said i should maybe get it flushed or maybe even a new radiator. I would just like to know if this is the real problem before i drop more money in this car. After the car gets hot thowe, if you pull over and put the car in neutral and let it sit for a few minutes it will still stay on hot until the ac comes on and it will slowly come down. Barely ! but upon pushing the gas to 2000 rpms it will come down to normal again Please help!

Get the radiator AND cap pressure tested.
