My blinker won't turn off

The other day, I turned on my left blinker. Now it won't go off and if i turn the switch to the right blinker the left blinker stays on and the right blinker won't come on. We took of the flasher and replaced it with a new one and that did nothing. What should I do

It sounds like it is the directional switch which is located in the steering colum. Unfortunattly in order to replace this switch you either have to take the colum apart, the steering wheel off or both, depending on the car.
