I have a 91 mighty max with 190k miles... 2.4L mitsu, rwd. i just baught this truck off of a friend for 400 bucks. he had the same problems with it, but didnt do anything to try and fix it...
I have a hell of a time starting this truck when its been sitting for more than 6 hours.. when it's running, it works just fine and is fast as hell. it has after market headers and larger diameter down pipe with no converter or tip.. i end up having to push start it 3 or 4 times to get it started. im thinging that its just a simple timming issue, maybe retarded? i have no idea how to find top dead center of either compression or exhuast.. otherwise i would check myself. i dont think i can adjust the distributer cap. the fuel pump seloniod also clicks every so often. when it does i get a great power loss but never really dies. i think it is the fuel pump seloniod, i could be wrong. its a gold looking component behind the kick panel of the passanger side.
