1999 Other Mitsubishi Models engine turning off

Runs, but engine wants to turn off at stops. This is a 99 Mistu Mirage. Would not start. Had battery checked, bad. Installed new battery. Checked alternator, good. Could it be the fuel filter or air intake valve?

I have a 95 mirage that does the same thing. It does idle heavy right before it dies. I will be using a ECM scanner on it this weekend to see if I can pin point the problem. I will keep you updated.
