I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS with the 2.0 non-turbo DOHC engine. My check engine light came on and I put a code reader on my car. The code that came up was the cylinder 1 is misfiring. I replaced the ignition coil, spark plugs and spark plug wires. I am baffled. What could be causing it to misfire? Could you guys give me some poiters and tell me some things to check.

Hi there,
Can you actually feel a miss fire? if so, apart from what you have done.
Check compression and check injection pulse next, it may also be a faulty injector.

How do I check the injector without pulling out the injector?

Hi there,

Quick way is to touch with finger while running you will feel the injector click. Or plug in a noid light to the electrical connector and watch for pulse. But you will have to pull the injector to see if the actual spray patten is ok. This should be done on a injector tester.
