1998 Mirage LS Turn Signal Stuck On

I was driving my 98 Mitsubishi Mirage LS a few days ago. I turned on the signal to the left and it hasn't stopped blinking since.
I think I swiped it on a bit too hard... so possibly something has gotten stuck

I heard it could've been a bulb. So I have checked the left front blinker bulb and swapped it for the one on the other side with no improvement. Actually, the turn signal has now doubled in blinking speed.

Before this problem, it had an issue with not "clicking on" to the right (as in, you have to hold it up). Ironically, it now clicks on just fine... It just needs to stop blinking to the left constantly.

My next step is pulling the steering wheel. But I'm a bit scared of the airbag. Heh.

Any help ASAP is greatly appreciated, since driving with hand signals is not fun. Especially now that its getting cold out ;)

I'm pretty sure I fixed this issue today.

For those who may be interested or have the same problem, it turns out the covers come off in two pieces from around the steering column.
I was able to access the turn signal switch from there. After taking the switch apart found a small plastic "nub" had broken off. This piece is attached to the actual switch you move when using the turn signal. It moves left and right what is essentially a "sensor strip" that tells the car which way you've flipped it on.

Since the piece had broken off, it was stuck to the left. I've used Quick-Dry Epoxy to attach the small piece. Once it dries (24 hours) I believe I should have a working turn signal again.

Hope that helps anyone who may have a similar problem. Repaired for $4.23 Epoxy from Ace Hardware, as opposed to a new $80 switch ($50 at junkyard). I'm happy with the savings!
