1993 Mitsubishi Loss of rpms above 2000 rpms?

I have a 1993 eclipse that when the engine check light comes on after the car warms up I will loos power above 2000 rpms.

When I back off of the accelerator and the rpms drop down under 2000 rpms the engine runs fine.

No problems starting and it runs fine until the engine check light comes on.

Need to have it scanned for the code/codes in the ECM. The computer has a problem, that is the reason for the light, which should point us in the right direction

To me it sounds like you have a clogged catalytic converter but to be sure here is the guide to help confirm the problem.
