I took my montero in for inspection sticker. Mind you the check engine light had been on for a while. The truck sputtered sometime. After the test at the inspeciton place, the report said cylinder 3 was not firing. Is this a spark plug issue? I was told to change the spark plugs requires removing whatever to get to them therefore it would cost around $300. Or could it be more? Would a compression test at my mechanics shop tell me or is that what the inspection place told me. I really need to sell the truck quickly but don't want to rip anyone off either! I just can't put out alot of money since I am on a fixed income.
