The other day my car died. We have check the battery and atlernator - they seem find. Now we are leaning toward the fuel pump and filter. We would like to check the relay and fuses first. Where is the relay located and how do I know if it is bad. Which fuse is for the fusel pump?

The ECM relay powers the fuel pump try swapping with a like one

The Model is an S two door coupe Any information you can supply is greatly appreciated. Also, if the battery is reading charged but is weak would that have anything to do with the car not starting.

For the S model its in the same location as for your battery get the alternator load tested to see if its putting out and also the battery if its taking the charge

My husband took off the back of the center console to check for the relay but he did not find anything. Are we looking in the correct place? Also, I read somewhere that there are two relays that power the fuel pump the fuel pump relay and the multi port injection relay> Is this true on my car? Also, my husband said to ask if new spark plugs and distributor/rotar cap would be a good idea?

Find the fuel pump connector and power the black and blue wire on it from the battery positive post did the fuel pump come On?

He can hear the fuel pump. He put in new spark plugs and started to put in new wires. Starting with the longest one then tested the start with and without the plug on. Car still sounded the same cranking but not starting. Can the battery be too weak?Or should we be looking for something else?

Tell him to do below and then get back with some results

Get a starting fluid/ether/better off gas in a spray bottle and spray into the carb or the throttle body on an EFI. Did it start and die? If not disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs,distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors- Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
