1991 Mitsubishi Mirage Two Wheel Drive Automatic 70000 miles

My Mother recently had the ECU replaced on her 90 mitsu mirage...The charges seemed exorbitant...She was charged $300 for labor and $750.00 for the part...The mechanic that installed it said it took 10 minutes (he felt bad for my mother) my question is what is reasonable and customary for this project.Both for the cost of the part and the labor...

Well depends on how huch time that was spent diagnosing. Normanl proceedure is 2 hrs check out time on computer problems. so if shop rate is $100 hr. thats $200. it does not take long to change but it can take quite a bit of time to find the problem.
