General procedure
Removal & Installation
1.Disconnect negative battery cable. If necessary, raise vehicle on hoist.
remove engine under cover and skid plate, if equipped.
Remove right-hand engine mount heat protector.
Disconnect and label vacuum hoses from transfer case shift actuator.
Remove pin from actuator operating rod and remove actuator.
2.On all models, remove starter mounting bolts and starter. To install, reverse removal procedures.
ensure vacuum hoses to actuator are properly attached (Blue hose to outside surface; Yellow hose to bottom of unit, under operating rod bellows).
