Ok what do you mean that it won't go into gears? Is it stuck in park and won't release or what? Is this one that you have to step on the brake to be able to take it out of park? Get back to me and we will go from there.

OK then have you checked to make sure the cable is adjusted right? Does it feel like it is in the gear as far as the shifter is concerned? I ask all these question because I do not have the car in front of me so I have to try to get all the info I can so I can try to determine what may be happening. So the more you can tell me the better it will help. I can't feel what is happening so I am depending on you to do that for me.

I cant help thinking you broke a CV axle which will make it seem like the transmission is not working. Here is a guide that will give you an idea of what to look for when changing it out. But first put the car in gear and use a flashlight to see if one of the axles is turning but the car is not going anywhere?

yes the shifter is working good, i even took the cable off at the tranny and shifted by hand i cycled through all gears and u can feel the shifter engaging in the gears but with the car running the gear selector in drive the tranny does nothing doesn't make any kind of effort to move or make movement,in drive or reverse u can actually push the car forward or backwards it's odd because both trannys are doing the same thing, i changed out the tranny ecu still nothing so I checked the axle and you were right the axle broke right at the cv joint and the boot was holding it in place lol you guys are smart!
