I'm thinking about buying a car, but they say the engine bottom end, which is engine block, pistons, connecting rods, and crankshaft, is broken. I was wondering how much, approximately, that would cost?

you will be putting few grand into it, that is assuming all of it needs rpelacing and you do it yourself, not have someone else do it.

also if anything needs to be taken in and remachined.
