Smells problem
1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 188k miles

I am smelling gas and it is drinking gas like never before. I have looked and do not see any gas spewing from the lines but am sure the smell would be gone by now. What would cause this unacceptable waste of fuel? Please help!!!!

Hi doizdump,

If gas smell is present and consumption is high, the most likely cause would be leakages. Since the fuel pump had just been replaced, check the hoses connection around it. Possibly the connections is not secure causing leakages. Leakages around the fuel pump would not be easy to detect without getting a good visual inspection.
