SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN - ENGINE CONTROL HARNESS ROUTING SERVICE CAMPAIGN BULLETIN Reference Number(s): SR-02-001,  Date of Issue:   May, 2002 MITSUBISHI:2002 Diamante GROUP:Safety Recall Related Ref Number(s): SR-02-001 ENGINE CONTROL HARNESS ROUTING - SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain 2002 Diamante vehicles because the engine control harness may have been incorrectly routed, resulting in insufficient clearance between the harness and the exhaust manifold heat shield. If the harness contacts the heat shield when it is hot, the harness insulation will melt, possibly grounding the crank angle sensor wiring and causing the engine to run erratically or stop suddenly. I dont know if this is the problem, but it's worth a look!
