2001 Mitsubishi Diamante No drive or reverse gears

I was driving down the road and the car shifted out of drive and into what seemed to be neutral, however the indicator lights on the dash flickered between Drive and neutral a few times before it stopped. I stopped the car and turned it off only to find that it will only shift in to neutral and drive now. It is throwing codes for Shift solenoid C and D Malfunction however i find it hard to believe that both solenoids would fail at the same time. I stripped the transmission harnes wire shrink wraps to check for anything that could be shorting it out as well as flushed the ATF and replaced with new fluid to no avail. Any insight into this would be extremely helpful
