Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Mitsubishi Diamante 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

1 month ago I had my timing belt changed along with having to replace every valve . The car broke down the other day and come to find out it is the timing belt again. They told me that the bolt to the tensioner broke . Since they didn't have to mess with that tensioner or bolt it isn't under their work garrentee (warranty).. My question is, does the tensioner have to be touched to replace a timing belt? I have been told by several people yes but this perticular mechanic says no. Please help.
