Engine miss

Hello there, thanks for using 2CarPros.com. Are you noticing the miss at idle or driving? For a quick check you can try cleaning the throttle plates and do an inspection of any vacuum lines. Also, I see with the low mileage you have in the year of the car it must have been sitting for awhile. So check wires under the hood and look for any critters crawling around. Mice love to chew on wires. But some more information on the vehicle will help, any other symptoms.

Have the miss at thirty to forty mph. Is it possible it is a timing problem?

I think I just sent you information on timing marks. LOL Regardless, it could be a timing issue or several other things. Things such as fuel pressure, engine vacuum leaks, needing a tune up. Can all cause a misfire.

Where are the timing marks on a 1986 dodge colt 1.5 Liter. Trying to time with timing light. Cannot see other mark on pulley. Can you send picture if possible.

Where is the timing marks on the bottom pulley for timing. I cannot see one in the picture you sent or on the car. Do you have a clearer picture. Thanks.

Hi. It should be in line with the crankshaft pulley locating pin. It is not a very big mark.
