Misfires when stopped and idling

When you get a misfire at idle, the first thing I think of is an engine vacuum leak. Here is a link that explains how to check for vacuum leaks:

Now, if the check engine is coming on or flashing, you really should scan the computer to see what diagnostic trouble codes are stored. That will point you in the direction of the problem. Here is a quick video showing how it is done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but often times a parts store will check it for free or lend/rent a scanner to you.
