2001 Mercury Villager stops running

2001 Mercury Villager Front Wheel Drive

This vehical starts just fine runes just fine till it warms up just a little and it shuts down . Then you have to let it cool down completely and it does it all over again.
I have had two people look at it two different diagnoses but neither one would say that theirs wood fix the problem

Would you share the two diagnoses? Check engine light on? How recent is tune? any recent repairs?

I had two diagnosis the first one said he thought it was the fuel pump the operative word is thought and would not say for sure it was this.
The other person said it mite be the distributor or the computer he said he would change out the distributor and if that's not it it would be the computer.This is a lot of money and neither one would gave me 100% guarantee that there recommendations would fix it.
The other thing was they could not get a computer reading on it

O.K. They are both going after two primary faults engine stops because of no spary or no fuel. When it conks out pull plug wire hold next to block crank spark? if yes then spray carb cleaner in air intake crank start?
