Have a 1999 Mercury Sable, 6 cycl. 134,000 miles on it and I have noticed a whistling noise underneath the hood. It did disappear for a few weeks and now it has returned. It seemed as though the more you would accelerate the worse it would sound. It seems to of got louder for some reason. I am not 100% sure whether this is still the case and whether it just whistles non stop now. We are planning to go on vacation next week and would appreciate your advice. Thanks.
