I recently tuned up my sisters 97 sable wagon, 130,000 3.0 DOHC. When I removed the upper intake I noticed that they were both filthy. I cleaned the surfaces with very fine emery cloth and the intake ports also. The car runs fine but sets 0170&0174 after about 2 weeks of driving. Could I have damaged something in my cleaning tecnique. I also used brake cleaner to clean some of the surface.
Please Help

I don’t know why you would do that (brake cleaner)
Did you use a new gasket? You should
You may have a vacuum leak recheck the worked area for vacuum leak

Good luck
