2002 Mercury Sable dashboard lights not working

The instrument panel lights would not work when I first started the car during cold weather, but would come on after the car warmed up. Now they don't work at all. The console lights work and the dome light works but not the panel. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I own a 2001 Sable with exactly the same symptoms. Dash lights will not come on but the emergency flasher indicators are solid lit. Used to come on when car warmed up but no more worky.
