Electrical problem
2002 Mercury Sable 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 86k miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
The brake warning light on the dash stays on. I checked the emer. brake switch, that works properly. The resevoir is full. I unplugged the switch on the resevoir, and the light goes out. I show 12v on one pin, good ground (.2 ohms)on another, and 4.2 V with ign. on at the third. I replaced the level switch, and it stayed out with eng. idling for about 5 min. I traveled about 100 ft on the road, and the light came back on. I don't know if I shorted a new switch, or if there is another problem in the system. Is there anything else tied to that circuit ? I see on Chiltons diagram, that the DRL system is tied to that, but I only have light sensor activation on this model.
