2002 Mercury Sable blower doesn't work

Ok let me get some info first. What have you checked? Do you have a digital multi meter to do some ohms and voltage testing? Get back to me and we will take it from there.

Hi, Thanks for responding! I do have a multi meter, thought I'd pull the blower control module and check it out but (A) I don't know how to get it open, (B) I don't know what to check and (C) what the proper readings would be (found these on the web for the MANUAL heating/ac system, but not for the ETAC.) Anyway, so far more ambition than know-how, but eager to learn!

Ok lets get to far ahead lets go the blower motor first ok. You will notice it has a two wire plug in on it. One is power one is ground. So with that you should check to see if there is power to it first. If there is no power to the blower motor when you have the heat or a/c on and the blower on then I need to check fuse number 8 (40 amp) and then fuse number 28 (10 amp). Let me know what you find here and we will take it from there.

OK, to make sure I understand, I should:

1. Re-install the Blower Control Module

2. Dis-connect the power cord running from the module to the blower at the blower end.

3. Turn on heat + blower & check for power (12v?) at the blower end of that power cord.

Yes and also check those fuses first make sure they are good. I gave you that info in the previous contact. Check for power at the blower motor with everything in place. Let me know what you find.
