My 1999 Sable wagon (OHV) has developed a problem that has gotten progressively worse. When the car warms up, it will just die. Once it does, it has to cool down for anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours.
When it first started, the check engine light was on, but I ran the code and it was the cam position sensor, so I replaced it, and there are now no stored codes. I have also replaced the fuel filter. My first instinct is fuel pump; however, about the same time as this problem began, the fuel guage started acting strangely as well. When I fill up, it can take as long as a couple hours to read full, so that leads me to suspect a short of some kind in the wiring to the fuel sender/pump; but why only when it's warm, and why does it start right up once it's cooled down? HEEEEEEEELP!
