1997 Mercury Sable I question my response to problem

1997 MERCURY SABLE
105,000 MILES • 6 CYL • FWD • AUTOMATIC

Only the passenger front door window is working. They all worked a few days ago. How could the solution be to check the regulator on the drivers side to see if it loosened up? Before I tear this apart, I want to be assured that this is a possible solution.

Most common to be a wiring harness in the driver door jam and not a regulator if its click and or making noise but not working have to suspect the regulator

The one click occurs in front by steering wheel each time I try to operate. For some reason, the back windows started working again.
