My Check Engine Soon Light just came on. My question is simply this...Should I bring the car to a dealer or is this something my personal mechanic can handle?
I have an appointment for next week with a dealer, is this something that can wait for a week? Is there a problem with driving the car until I can get it looked at?

I'm not hearing any noises and the car seems to drive fine. Any insight would be appreciated.

This is something your personal mechanic can handle,just have your mechanic scanned the computer for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.
