1995 Mercury Sable Door Latch Problem

1995 Mercury Sable 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My front driver side door latch broke this morning. How can i repair or replace it. Is this a dealer only part? Is this something a beginner can handle? Help please. Thank you.

It is a dealer part or you can get one from a salvage yard. You should be okay doing it. All you do is remove the door panel to access it. Once in, only two bolts hold it in place and the linkage is held together by a plastic retainer that will need disconnected.
