Since Saturday (today is Wednesday), my car has gone through 1 1/2 gallons of oil! I put 3 quarts in on Saturday and never really went anywhere very far.
Today I drove about 25 miles, and the oil light went on. I pulled in a gas station and checked the oil to find that the dipstick came out almost clean! I added two quarts, and the light went out. I drove 12 miles back and everything was fine. The car sat for about 4 hours, and then I drove 5 miles and the light went on again, same story.
What is the cause and how much should it cost to repair?
