had heat going,sudden thump,and hot air stopped ,blower still runs,no hot air,temp turn to heat constant thumping no hot air,whats the problem?

I would say you have a blend door actuator problem.
It has been a popular headache for many Explorer - Mountaineer owners over the past 10+ years.
The repair is very involved and the cost for the repair is $1000.00+
A large portion of the cost is labor, the entire dash needs to be removed.
There "is" a quick fix , hopefully you can do it yourself and save a large amount of money.
