Is there a set schedual when the timing chain should be changed.
I am about to take out the radiator due to large leak, so while have it out I am going to change the water pump, it has never been changed yet, SO i figure it is probable due. Since I am going to have the radiator out anyway why not change the water pump. And if I am going that far, I was just wondering if I should go the extra mile and change out the timing chain and gears. I have 177,000 miles on this engine.
SO what do you all think.

timing chains are meant to , and often do, last the life of the engine. unless the chain seems loose and is making noise there is really no need to replace it.
