Ignition Module?

I have a 1997 grand marquis gs 4.6 liter. the past few weeks after its been sitting overnight for instance it wont start right up... doesnt want to turn over keeps cranking but it wont turn over as if its getting no gas. checked for a spark and there is none on either side. it never dies while its running though, could this be a coil or an ignition module.
