Electrical problem
1998 Mercury Marquis V8 Automatic 127400 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
Ive had it with the windows in my carr. First, the drivers window gave out and after 3 hours of figuring out it wasnt the motor and it was only a bad connector i thought i was set. I pried the connector up as a temp fix until I could get a new part. Sometimes I would pull the window switch panel off the door to pry the connector back up. Well I went to do this yesterday and screwed up all my other windows somehow. I now have my drivers window stuck up and the rest stuck down. I tried changing the metal looking fuse for that part because the fuse was hot as hell when i touched it. I dont know what to do and it supposed to rain tommorow help me not ride around with threee garbage bags as windows!!! pleasee

OK. Tested all the fuses and relays yesterday and they are working fine. I pried up a metal piece that the actaul swtich makes contact with. My uncle seems to think its a wiring harness considering none of the windows work and the fuses and relays all checked out

Pull connector look for discoleration that would mean a loose connection. Do the other windows work at the door switch ? If not master switch is suspect it maybe burnt connectios inside at the rocker switch.

I have the entire assembly disconnected now. None of the windows work even from the individual door controls. I went to the dealer today and he told me that since its a 98 they dont make the wiring harness for it anymore. Off to the junkyard I go I guess

Before you replace parts, have it scanned for codes, your car has a drivers door module, and a lighting control module, and if the problem is a communication failure, a code will be set...B code. Ford can scan it....
