My problem is when i go to put the car in to park it stays in reverse. I have to move the gear shift up fast to put it in to park , and then sometimes that does not work. What could be the problem?

Hi:
It sounds like there is a problem with the shifter linkage. Check under the hood to the trans to see if anything seems to have too much play.
