1993 mercury grand marquis, v8 4.6l, auto trans. approx. 125,000 miles.
The problem is a noise coming from a vaccum source. The is a 1 inch diameter hose coming from the intake manifold going towards the rear and under side of the car (towards the Tranny). This hose has a periodic noise that sounds like a fog horn, if I increase rpm I can make it go away, it generally is noticable at low speeds or idle, I can pull it off and plug with my finger and sometimes cause it to happen, almost sounds as though it is a split in this hose and is causeing an air suction vibration. Any thoughts
