engine hesitates pulses when starting off from stop. had transmission replaced. seems like transmission is not shifting properly could these two be related?

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked for vacuum leaks and fuel pressure? Finally, have you checked to see if the catylatic converter is starting to plug?
