Just recently the car will make a squeaking noise when you turn the steering wheel. We checked the steering fluid, and it appears full. Checked oil, it is ok too. Does this mean the steering fluid needs to be emptied and replaced or could the problem be with the axles or wheels underneath the vehicle?

Hi,You Have To Determent if it's coming front the steering column area or the front end .My quess would be the front end .It could be a dry outer tie rod end, or ball joint.on most cars anymore their is no grease fitting to lube these parts.so they get dry and wear out.to check the noise ,have someone turn the steering wheel while you put your hand on the ball joint or tie rod to feel squeak.be very careful doing this .make sure car is in park, and parking brake is on.

Hope This Helps You,
Good Luck

Thanks for your answer... I think it is the "front end"... Your answer makes sense to me... However, since neither I nor my husband are good at dealing with car problems, I will probably have to take it somewhere and get it checked out like you said. Do you have any idea how much it would cost to fix the problem? would this be something a "Jiffy Lube' could fix, or would I have to take it to a mechanic in a shop? ... PS.. Thanks for your answers
