1995 Mercury Cougar 4R70W tranny swap

My 95 cougars 4r70w tranny went out, i cannot afford to rebuild it, so Yesterday I foung a 1997 Mercury grand marquis 4r70w tranny, several people have told me It will work on my car, and one told me it will not work. Will the wiring setup or work with my cougar?? or what will I have to do to get it to work?? Thanks!!!!

Hi Bryan,

After going over the schematics, though both vehicle uses different PCM and controls, they seem to be similar in terms of the the various sensors attached and wiring concerned.

If the wiring connectors are smilar, I believe the swap is possible.
