1988 Mercury Cougar 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
i just replaced the battery and the car has been sitting for 2 or 3 weeks. after i got it started it started puffing white smoke out of the exhaust and it smells like burning coolant. i think its a blown or cracked head, but i thought that if the head was blown or cracked that the white smoke would be non-stop but after the car runs for a few mins the smoke isnt as bad as when it first starts. and when i looked under the hood the driver side of the motor was some what smoking. i mean it wasnt like major smoke but it was there like it was burning something off of it. and its right where the head is at.
