Mercedes oil filter plastic ring

Hi,

I noticed on your video of the Mercedes c300 that there is a plastic ring on top of the oil filter. My GLC 300 has the same ring. The replacement oil filter does not have that ring. What should I do with the ring?

Hi Steve,

Put the existing plastic ring on the new filter and you will be good to go.

I tired to remove it but it seems attached to the filter.

It is attached to the long tube sticking out of the other side push the whole thing though the filter.
