Electrical problem

My soft-top seems to be having difficulty closing and locking. The top comes up very slowly and it almost comes to a complete stop when about 3/4 of the way closed. It does eventually close and lock but the motor that controls the top makes a high pitch spinning sound. I have also noticed what appears to be gear oil dripping from where the top locks into up by the sun visors on the drivers side. Anyone else have this or a similar problem ?
