I am works Engineer of a Workshop in India.
We have a Mercedes Benz S600, 140 series for rectification of Harsh Rear Suspension. I have changed height control valve, Accumulators of both sides, both shock absorbers and Hydraulic Pump.The ride of the vehicle on rough road is very harsh. There is a drumming sound whenever it goes over rough patch.

did you bleed the system? if not you need to, write me at [email protected] to get full detail on how to purge. do you still have the old parts? can you take a picture of them? and what new parts and brand plus part numbers did you sue to replace? I can provide you with the original service manual procedure.
