how do the folding seats in the e320 work? Mechanical? Electrical? Electronic? My front sets do not lock in position when the car is moving, when motor is on or at any time. Where does the fix begin please?

If your seats have switches that move the seats then they are electric. If your seats have a manual lever type mechanism then they are mechanical. If the seats are moving the locking mechanism on wither is not engaging. This can be cause by broken armatures or failed motors on electric models, or a broken locking mechanism on manual models.
